Know what every bot
on your site is actually doing.
Your analytics never see bots, and user-agents lie. Botmotive reads behavior to tell you who's probing, copying, training on, or quoting your pages. Then it fixes the problem in one click.
Bots are most of your traffic. You can't see any of it.
Analytics never see them
Crawlers and scrapers download the HTML and never run your JavaScript, so Google Analytics and similar tools count zero bots.
User-agents are self-declared
Any script can say it's Googlebot or Chrome. Tools that sort logs by user-agent believe whatever they're told.
Raw logs don't tell you what to do
Thousands of lines don't tell you whether you're being scraped, attacked or ignored by AI, or what to change about it.
Every label comes with its reasons.
Botmotive looks at how many pages a bot visits, how fast, in what order, which paths and errors it hits, and whether it obeys robots.txt. It also groups thousands of rotating IPs into the one operator behind them. Then it shows you exactly why each label was given.
Every alert comes with a one-click fix.
Each fix pays off in one of three ways: less risk, lower cost, or more visibility in AI assistants.
“Your /.env file is publicly readable, and a bot just downloaded it.”
“Bots tried 212 times to exploit a known flaw in a plugin version you run.”
“Bots used 3.1 PHP-hours this week in ?filter= URLs.”
“A bot checks your pricing page every 5 minutes.”
“Googlebot hit 37 broken pages.”

Every bot gets a label
Each bot's claimed identity is checked against the operator's published IPs and DNS. Then the rules score its behavior, and repeat offenders are flagged ahead of friendly labels.
Fix it in one click
On WordPress, Botmotive applies the fix itself. For other hosts, you get a ready-made rule to paste in. Every action can be undone.

Questions, answered.
Why not just block bots by user-agent?
Because any script can claim to be anything. Botmotive checks claimed identities against each operator's published IP ranges or DNS. It also catches browsers that are really bots, like a "Chrome" running on AWS that's missing the headers real Chrome always sends.
Will it accidentally block Google?
No. Blocking a verified search engine always asks you to confirm first. When something impersonates Googlebot, Botmotive blocks the fake's IP range, not the Googlebot name, so the real crawler is unaffected. Every action can be undone.
What if my WordPress site uses a page cache or CDN?
The plugin only sees requests that reach WordPress, so cached hits are missing. The dashboard tells you this plainly and adjusts its scores to match. For the full picture, add a Cloudflare, Vercel or Fastly log drain alongside the plugin.
Is this human analytics too?
No. Botmotive is bots only. Logged-in users are always excluded, and query-string values are dropped when traffic arrives, so we only keep parameter names.
Can scrapers read the detection rules in the plugin?
No. The plugin only collects traffic and enforces your actions. All the classification happens on our servers, so scraper authors have no thresholds to read and work around.
